Located on the outskirts of Canterbury, Kent, Ye Olde Beverlie is a traditional-style, community-led pub and restaurant that sits in a beautiful residential area, overlooking St. Stephens Green and the park.

Owing to its great position close to the city centre, universities, churches, and the ‘Crab and Winkle Way’ route between Canterbury and Whitstable, together with its community locals, Ye Olde Beverlie plays host to a very diverse customer base. On a weekly basis, it welcomes its mature local drinkers in the afternoons, quiz nights on Monday, cyclists and walkers in the area, families at the weekends, and students from the surrounding area.

Originally founded in the pub back in September 1922, the old English bat-and-ball pub game ‘Bat & Trap’ also remains an important part of Ye Olde Beverlie’s history, and the league is still hosted in the garden, two evenings a week, from April onwards.

Ye Olde Beverlie currently trades seven days a week from noon onwards and provides its customers with a traditional menu full of classic pub favorites from noon until 9pm on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and during split hours from Monday to Thursday.

Internally, on the ground floor, you will find the front bar, which houses a feature servery, old tiled floors, hanging hops, and an open fire place for approximately 40 covers, together with a snug for 14 covers and a separate restaurant dining room for 30 covers. There is also a fully equipped trade kitchen with a wash-up area and storage space, a good-sized ground-floor cellar with a spirits lock-up cupboard, and an office.

To the back of the property, you will find an enclosed grassed garden with bench seating for approximately 60 covers, which is moved during the Bat & Trap games.

The tenant’s private accommodation is located on the first floor and is currently set out as an open-plan lounge, kitchen, and diner, with a large double bedroom leading on to a smaller double bedroom and a bathroom.
Ye Olde Beverlie is now looking for new operators and it has the potential to be available immediately for the right applicants, so for more information or to arrange a formal viewing of the site, please contact us now
