The Stag Inn is a multi-award-winning, 16th-century pub and restaurant that is nestled beneath the East Hill on the outskirts of Hastings Old Town, East Sussex.

Over the years, the Stag's excellent range of diverse events, live music, and good food has now earned them a great reputation and a strong local following in the area. It is renowned locally for its folk influence, with open English folk sessions every Tuesday, bluegrass music on Wednesdays, and live music on Sunday afternoons. Every week, the Stags calendar of events gives their customers a reason to keep returning; it is packed full of quiz nights, comedy clubs, murder mystery evenings, tasting suppers, vinyl nights, bar billiards evenings, and much, much more.

The pub currently trades seven days a week, from 6 pm until 11 pm Monday to Thursday, from noon until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays, and from noon until 9 pm on Sundays. The first-class food served at the Stag has been recognised with an ‘AA Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence’ in 2022 and 2023 and is currently available during split hours Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and for their unrivalled Sunday lunches between 12.30 and 3.30 pm.

Internally, the Stag still boasts some of its original features, including Tudor oak-beamed ceilings and a stone arched fireplace built in 1547, both complimented by rustic floorboards, a cosy interior, and twinkling fairy lights. You will find a central feature bar servery, the front bar, which is used for more relaxed drinking and dining, for approximately 24 covers, and the back bar and dining room for approximately 24 covers, which can also double up as a function room. The ground-floor trade kitchen is small but perfectly well-equipped, with additional kitchen storage space on the first floor.

Externally and set on a steep incline, the Stag houses the Old Town's largest pub garden. The patio is set out over three tiers and can accommodate approximately 24 covers for alfresco dining.

The tenant's private accommodation is laid out over two floors and includes an office, kitchen storage room, toilet, shower, and two bedrooms on the first floor, as well as a single bedroom, double bedroom, and bathroom on the second floor.

The Stag Inn is looking for new tenants to take over the running of the business in November 2024, so for more information or to arrange a formal viewing, please contact us now.
