The county town of Carmarthen is the administrative centre for the largest of the three West Wales counties. It is the home of Trinity College University, Carmarthen as well as the Welsh Government and County Council offices. Carmarthen has a vibrant town centre with many businesses, shops and hospitality businesses. It has a population of approximately 16,300. It stands on the River Towy where the A40 trunk route meets the A48 dual carriageway (M4 extension).
The Queens Hotel is a historic Grade II Listed building at the heart of the town centre, Queen Street being ostensibly the town’s main High Street. It offers two good size bars, excellent enclosed trade garden and extensive owners accommodation across the first and second floors. The business has been closed for over four years, and is in need of considerable refurbishment and repair.
