This is an attractive stone built village freehouse occupying a prominent location right in the centre of the popular residential and tourist village of Longtown. The village is located in the lea of the Black Mountains on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park. It is some 4 miles north of the A465 and found by turning off at Pandy and proceeding up the Longtown Valley for some four miles. The village is some 11 miles from Abergavenny and 18 Hereford.

These premises, which have been in the same family ownership for over seventeen years, enjoy a long established business with an excellent reputation. The Crown is a well diversified business offering bars, small functions, catering and seven very well appointed en suite letting bedrooms, one of which is presently utilised as an office. It is the focal point of a wide area and enjoys a great deal of repeat custom, plus an element of chance trade and significant letting income.

The village has a post office, general stores and primary school plus the noted Longtown Castle which is now in ruins but attracts many visitors to the immediate area. There are also several galleries in the immediate facilities with local artists work on display in the Crown. This is an ideal base for visitors touring the area or those walking the many local trails on the Black Mountain, Cat’s Back and the Offa’s Dyke walk.

The original property, which is Grade II listed, was constructed of stone with colour washed elevations under a pitched slate roof. There is a more recent extension which has a rendered finish with colour washed elevations under slate roofs. There are solar panels to the roof over the games room. The accommodation is presented in very good order and no further investment would be required for many years.
