Walfinch Carers Combine Fundraising for Hospice with Care Advice and Cakes

Care experts from Walfinch home care are raising money for Bury Hospice and answering care queries in the biggest shopping centre in Bury, Greater Manchester this week.

Monique Gadd, Managing Director of Walfinch home care Bolton and Bury, says: "We are running a pop-up stand in the Mill Gate Shopping Centre where we will be seeking donations to Bury Hospice. People offering donations will be given delicious cupcakes.”

Monique explains: “We chose to fundraise for Bury Hospice because we know it provides invaluable palliative and end-of-life care to thousands of patients and their families across Bury. They have a holistic approach and every team member and volunteer has a passion to help others. At Walfinch we live by our core values and we recognise these values in the work of Bury Hospice.”

The stand, which will be open from 9 to 5 daily from Monday March 18th to Sunday March 24th , will also offer the chance to find out more about home care.

Face-to-face advice about care

Monique adds: “Finding out about care can be difficult, especially if you have not sourced it before, so myself, our Registered Care Manager Caroline Flood, and some of our other carers, will be at the stand.

“We welcome any questions about care, such as what kinds of home care can be provided, how it can be funded, how to arrange it, and how  joining our care team can be a flexible and rewarding career.

“Meeting care providers in person is vital when choosing care, to help ensure that you and your loved ones will get on well with them. All our carers have passed our 'Mum Test', so they are the kind of people we'd trust to look after our own mums,” says Monique.

The team from Walfinch will also be offering free goodie bags including tasty treats and leaflets that explain what kind of care Monique and her team provide.

As well as hourly and live-in care these include companionship care, help in convalescence and stroke rehabilitation, dementia care, and specialised care for people with a range of conditions including  multiple sclerosis (MS), Parkinson's and cerebral palsy.

People keen to set up a home care business can also find out about how a Walfinch franchise can help them achieve their ambition. Richard Stanfield, Walfinch Franchisee Support Manager will be on the stand on Wednesday March 20th from 10am to 4pm to answer their questions.

Mill Gate is in Bury town centre, and attached to Bury Market which attracts hundreds of visitors to its market days on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.
