East Barnet homecare provider retains ‘Good’ rating from industry inspector Walfinch East Barnet maintains positive rating following latest CQC review

A homecare company based in East Barnet, is celebrating after maintaining its ‘good’ rating following an interim review by industry regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

During the original inspection, the CQC spent time speaking with care staff, those receiving care, relatives of service users and the registered manager, Mr Marcelo Navarro. They looked to determine whether the service delivered is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. The team received ‘good’ ratings in all five areas.

Walfinch East Barnet, which is based in Whetstone, East Barnet, was set up by Marcelo in March 2021. The team has since expanded with 24 carers and today provides a wide range of care services to people in their home across the local area, including Edmonton, Wood Green, Alexandra Palace, East Finchley, Southgate, Palmers Green, Enfield, Cockfosters and Barnet.

Talking about the latest review by the CQC, Marcelo said, “I am delighted that the CQC is confident that our service does not require a reassessment, and we therefore retain our existing ‘good’ rating. This follows our first official inspection since launching the business, and to achieve good ratings in each of the five areas inspected is something I am very proud of.

“Since launching the business, my team of carers are today providing personal care and support to many people across the Barnet area. Every day we strive to provide an outstanding service that will make a difference to our clients’ day, and I’m delighted with the feedback and positive reviews we receive.”

Walfinch East Barnet’s services are included on Barnet council’s providers list. Walfinch East Barnet is also one of the trustees of the Dementia Club UK, where the team has helped the community and supports their carers. Walfinch’s own clients have been able to take part of their weekly meetings and enjoy outings organise by them.
