CQC Praises ‘Inspirational’ Home Instead On Its 40th Outstanding Rating

Home care franchise business, Home Instead Senior Care, has been praised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) after achieving its 40th ‘Outstanding’ rating. The accolade from England’s care regulator was awarded to the Richmond upon Thames office, run by Mike Jefferies, and means the network outranks all other home care companies for the top rating in England.

CQC’s Chief Inspector of Adult Social Care said the values of the commission were reflected in the way Home Instead worked.  Andrea Sutcliffe CBE said:  “As the independent quality regulator, CQC’s work is guided by a simple principle – is this a service I would be happy for my Mum or anyone I love to use? I’m thrilled that this shines through in so many of Home Instead’s offices across the country, and I have a feeling they won’t stop here.

“As Home Instead knows; the very best adult social care comes down to fantastic leadership, a transparent and open culture, great support for staff, a desire to continually improve and people being at the heart of how safe, person-centred and compassionate care is delivered. As Home Instead demonstrates time and time again, it can be done.

“Congratulations to everyone at Home Instead on your inspirational achievement.”

Home Instead is very much a values-based company with a mission to ‘change the face of ageing’.  As such, the network prides itself on tailoring its care to every client’s needs.  It is held in high esteem throughout the sector and the number of CQC ‘Outstanding’ ratings achieved bears testament to that.  Over 25% of Home Instead’s offices in England have been honoured with the top rating – compared with only 3.3% of adult social care providers overall.

Ruth Brown, Head of Franchise Development at Home Instead Senior Care, said: “The feedback from CQC is the icing on the cake after a year of incredible accolades. To receive this recognition from the care regulator shows that our franchisees are providing excellence in terms of the level of care expected by the commission, whilst at the same time running thriving businesses.”

Summing up, managing director Martin Jones, said:  “This accolade means so much because it’s based on the experiences of the people we care for and their families.  It shows the way we approach caring for people really makes a difference to them.  To know that our franchisees are running successful businesses which provide unparalleled care gives me a great sense of pride.”
