Home Instead joins the dementia debate with the BBC

The BBC has recently been highlighting issues surrounding dementia and at Home Instead we are delighted at the efforts being made to raise awareness of the disease and the impact it has on families across the UK.

A number of BBC regional radio stations featured dementia within their schedules and we were very proud to hear so many of our Home Instead owners join the debate and actively participate in the discussions. Owners of Home Instead offices across the country, along with caregivers and clients’ family members, have been interviewed in BBC studios, in family homes and Home Instead offices – all with the aim of raising awareness of dementia.

Home Instead are specialists in the area of dementia care and the BBC exposure is a fantastic way to increase brand awareness throughout the UK and support our owners to achieve their own growth projections.

Speaking about the BBC commitment, Trevor Brocklebank said:

“There is still a huge amount of misunderstanding and misinformation out there about dementia. Sadly there is also stigma. The more we can talk about dementia, the more we can help people to understand the condition and how to deal with it, the better.”

“Our caregivers receive specialist dementia training which helps them to understand the disease, spot it in clients and manage the sometimes difficult behaviours associated with it.”

“I have been hugely proud to hear them speaking to the BBC about it so eloquently this week and hearing them share their own personal stories about how they are making a difference to people’s lives.”

Home Instead Senior Care is an award winning management franchise specialising in the delivery of the highest quality non-medical care for older people, so they can remain in their own homes. With territories available across the UK, we offer an exciting opportunity to run your own successful business, while also making a difference in your local community at the same time.
