Fantastic result for Home Instead at National Care Awards

Home Instead Senior Care is delighted to announce that Mark Bushell from our Stockport office collected the coveted national Home Care Co-Ordinator award at the finals of this year’s prestigious Great British Care Awards held on 6th June. The glittering ceremony was at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The national awards are the culmination of the search to find the very best people in care, bringing together the winners from nine regional GBCA awards held in autumn 2013 to compete again to become national champions. The awards celebrate excellence across the social care sector and pay tribute to individuals who have excelled in their work.

The Home Care Co-Ordinator award is presented to an individual who demonstrated to the judges their knowledge and skill in utilising their team in an effective and efficient way. They were also able to show that they have a vision in motivating and supporting their team whilst ensuring the client remains at the heart of the service. The award was presented to Mark by Glen Mason, from the Department of Health which also sponsored the award.

Home Instead Senior Care had six finalists at the awards, all of whom, like Mark, had won their regional finals.

Our other regional finalists were Halie Richardson and Chris Garrard both from Barnet, in the ‘Care Newcomer’ category and the ‘Putting People First’ category, respectively, Amy Kennedy from Peterborough in the ‘Frontline Leader Award’ category, Angela Taylor from Durham in the ‘Care Newcomer’ category and Fleur Taviner from Bristol & North Somerset in the ‘Dignity in Care’ category.

Commenting on the award winners, Trevor Brocklebank, CEO of Home Instead Senior Care said, “It gives me great pleasure to see the work our teams do across the country being recognised at such a prestigious event. My congratulations go to Halie, Chris, Amy, Angela and Fleur who were very worthy regional winners and of course to our national winner Mark.

He continued, “Every day we care for our older clients but we also care for our CAREGivers and we are very proud of what we do at Home Instead. We ensure our CAREGivers have excellent training, so that they can best support their clients’ needs including our unique Alzheimer’s training which has been accredited by City & Guilds. All of which ensures that we have only the best client and CAREGiver relationships which are built on trust and genuine friendship.”
