New Home Care Service Launched In South Birmingham

{New Home Care Service Launched In South Birmingham}

“I decided to start my own home care company when I saw the way one treated my auntie. To them, she was just a number,” says Mohamed Railey.

“I inspired my commitment to create a care service where dignity, kindness, and excellence are non-negotiable, but I knew it would take a long time to set up a care business on my own. That's why I became a franchisee with Walfinch home care. It means I can bring high-quality care and healthy activities faster to the people of Birmingham South.”

Walfinch is a national home care provider which delivers all kinds of care, including dementia care, specialist care, and live-in care, to people in their own homes, but unlike most home care companies, it also delivers a healthy and active lifestyle for clients.

Care that delivers Time To Thrive

“Walfinch believes that care should help people thrive, not just survive,” says Mohamed. “All clients who receive at least an hour of care are offered help to take part in activities of their own choosing, such as gardening, walking or arts and crafts.”

Walfinch branches also run local Thrive Clubs, offering free, local activities, such as exercise adapted to people's capabilities, or craft sessions, and providing opportunities for local people to meet existing friends and new people in their areas. Carers will take clients to the Thrive Clubs.

“I am looking forward to starting a Thrive Club in our area,” Mohamed says.

Mohamed has wide experience of project management and managing teams, from his previous career in IT, and has worked in his local community, raising money for a £12m new mosque project.

“The networking experience will be valuable in growing the new Walfinch South Birmingham service. I have already started making contacts with local professionals such as solicitors who may find our care services useful for their clients.”

Mohamed has not run his own business before, but says: “Walfinch is an established home care provider with branches across the country, run by local managing directors trained and supported by the Walfinch national support team, which includes care and business experts.”

Mohamed has already recruited his Registered Manager, and says: “I am inspired by The Walfinch Founder and Chief Executive Amrit Dhaliwal, who started out as a home care franchisee himself, so he understand what it takes to run a successful branch.

“My ambition is to get an “outstanding” rating from the care sector regulator, the Care Quality Commission (CQC). I want every one of our clients to get the high-quality care they deserve. We will never  treat anyone as 'just a number.”
