New COO for drainage and plumbing franchise

{New COO for drainage and plumbing franchise}

Metro Rod & Plumb has promoted Stephen Chambers to Chief Operating Officer at the £70m turnover company following his 11 years with the business. The promotion highlights the company’s commitment to investing in and developing its team.

The two brands are represented across a network of 64 franchises across the UK, providing a range of services, including drain unblocking and CCTV drain surveys.

Stephen has gained a great deal of experience at the company’s base in Cheshire, having performed various roles. Over the years, he has dealt with clients in the call centre, managed relationships with the company’s franchisees and overseen important aspects of the business such as operations, franchise recruitment and business development.

Using his deep understanding of all aspects of the business, Stephen will oversee the running of the two brands, working closely with teams at the support centre to ensure all franchisees can grow and provide customers with a first-class service.

Speaking about his new role, Stephen said, “It’s been quite an 11 years and I’m grateful to everyone who has supported me during the progression of my career.

“We now have a team of over 100 people and a fantastic franchise network but there is still huge scope for development and growth given our proven track record.

“I’m really excited about this new opportunity and ready for the next stage in my career.”

Stephen will report to Peter Molloy, Group CEO of Franchise Brands, the parent company of Metro Rod and Metro Plumb.

In congratulating Stephen on his promotion, Peter said, “One of the ambitions of the Franchise Brands business is to train and develop our staff which enables us to promote from within.

Stephen is one of many people in the organisation who have benefited from this approach.

“Stephen has demonstrated a deep understanding of the business and the needs of our franchise network and clients. His experience over the last 11 years across a range of roles will stand him in good stead as he takes on his new role and responsibilities.”
