The Elite Franchise Top 100 (EF100) has officially opened entries for its 2027 rankings, marking the tenth year of the annual league table recognising standout franchise brands across the UK.
First launched in 2017, the EF100 highlights franchisors based on a range of criteria including financial performance, network growth, franchisee support, innovation, community impact and long-term business development. Successful brands will retain their place in the rankings throughout 2027.
Entries are judged by a panel of more than 25 franchise industry experts, including representatives from HSBC UK, the British Franchise Association and other leaders from across the sector. Brands are assessed using an eight-point scoring framework covering areas such as business performance, technology, ESG initiatives, customer experience and future growth plans.
Pip Wilkins, Chief Executive of the British Franchise Association, said the rankings continue to recognise the strength and diversity of UK franchising: “There’s no easy way in; franchisors from 100 to 1 have to wow the judges with standout achievements and present strong evidence that proves they deserve their spot on the list.”

Alongside the Top 100 rankings, a series of special awards will be presented at the EF100 awards ceremony in March 2027, recognising achievements in areas including innovation, sustainability and diversity, with the overall number one franchise also crowned on the night.
Entries close on 4 September 2026, with the final rankings due to be revealed on 4 December 2026. Franchisors can submit an entry via the Elite Franchise website.
Finalists who secure a place in the Top 100 will be invited to the awards ceremony on Thursday 11th March 2027. To learn more about the EF100 and view current rankings, click here.
