Andrew explains that he’s worked with BusinessesForSale.com since 2014, using the platform to advertise Energie Fitness, a gym franchise with 80 locations across the UK, Ireland, and Spain.

Andrew’s advice to new franchise buyers:

1) Spend time with the franchisor. Franchising is a people’s business, so franchisees should know who they’re working with and if they can develop a relationship built on trust. Franchise agreements can be five to ten years, so take some time to get to know people in the brand and build a good connection with them. Can you see yourself working in the business and building a long-term relationship?

2) Seek out the top performers in the franchise network. This is important, as it will open your mind to the art of the possible. A franchise isn’t always a guarantee of success, but there will be people in the network that are making a success of the business, so you should spend time with them and learn from them. The more time you spend with top performers, the more you’ll understand what you need to become successful.

3) Follow the systems. If you decide to buy a franchise, make sure you follow the systems and stick to the brand guidelines. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit and innovative ideas, make sure to work with the franchisor and discuss them.
