The Elite Franchise Top 100 (EF100) is thrilled to announce the latest rankings of the top 100 franchisors in the UK for 2024. Established in 2017, the EF100 recognises and celebrates the industry’s outstanding franchises. Now entering its eighth year, the defining league table is excited to reveal its annual announcement of who has made the top 100.
Amid intense competition across diverse industries, Snap-on Tools has clinched the esteemed position at the top of the EF100 rankings for the second year in a row. The leading global tool manufacturing and distribution franchise will hold the title for the duration of 2024.
UK Managing Director of Snap-on Tools, Byron Miltz, proudly reflects on their position atop the rankings: “This is our third time being ranked number one in the EF100, and it’s the second consecutive year. ‘When assessing candidates, we consider factors such as a franchise’s revenue, expansion and quality of their training and support systems,” said Anita Roberts, Franchise Director at HSBC UK and one of this year’s 24 specialist judges. “Achieving such a high position on this list is a clear testament to the extraordinary achievements of the brands that consistently set the gold standard.”
The league table’s top 5 is comprised of Home Instead in second place, Driver Hire taking third, Water Babies in fourth and Subway in fifth position. To be awarded a place in the top 5 is a remarkable achievement, showcasing the strength of their business models, adaptability and determination.
Brand Director of Elite Franchise, Scott English, congratulated each franchise on this enormous accomplishment: “Making it into the top 100 is something to be unbelievably proud of. Each year we judge using our eight key criteria, as well as evaluating the frameworks in place to overcome challenges and creating long-term success. These brands’ attitudes and innovations continue to amaze us, and they deserve all the recognition.”
This year’s biggest climber is Turtle Tots going from position 96 to 71 and the highest new entry is Puccino’s making its first appearance on the list at 30. The EF100 provides valuable insights for those considering franchise opportunities, with the list reflecting a diverse array of successful franchises across various sectors.

Finalists will gather during a glittering awards gala on Thursday 14th March 2024 at the Leonardo Royal, St Paul's, London. This year, a number of additional awards will be given to brands highlighting exceptional performance, ranging fromEmerging Franchisor of the Year to the HSBC Exceptional Performance Award. The shortlist for these esteemed accolades will be announced this month.
