It is an e-commerce business that sells book and movie mystery boxes. I first came up with the idea after

After spending so much time trying to find a movie to watch on streaming platforms such as Netflix, I thought, Why not make a box that comes with guarantees that I, a film connoisseur, can pick out, guaranteeing the customer will receive movies that are certified classics but also hidden gems, stopping all that time wasted looking for a movie and going straight into it while also building their physical media collection? Six months later, I am now selling these What’s in the Box boxes to customers in the UK, EU, and America.

I recently hit £20,000 in total revenue in just under six months with a net profit of £18,000.

Operations.

Most shipments are shipped by myself using Evri and Royal Mail. Responding to customers' emails takes no more than 30 minutes, too.
Packing the movies is quite simple. We currently order batches of plain 9x6x6 boxes from Amazon; I just haven’t yet. Because of the speed of Amazon delivery, I screen print our logo onto our boxes and stick the ‘fragile warning’ stickers on the side, and that’s it. The movies are wrapped in bubble wrap and packed into boxes. But you can find a manufacturer who can have the boxes come to you ready-made, which would also cut expenses.

Customers.

Customers are predominantly here in the UK. However, we have increased sales in the EU and USA.
I fulfil the orders myself, allowing for fast shipping (3-5 days).

Why are some months significantly busier?

You will see from the profit and loss document provided that March and July are particularly busy compared to the rest of the year. although summer sales are expected between June and July.
