Ours is a well-regarded and trusted RIBA chartered practice established in 2013. We are a hands-on studio that values relationships as much as design, and which aims to design attractive buildings that make the most of brief and budget. We see every commission as an opportunity to improve the built environment.
We have grown organically and now have seven employees, including architects, apprentice architects and a friendly and knowledgeable support staff. We pride ourselves on our low staff turnover, with a number of team members having been with us for many years. The company is embedded in the local community - our branded classic cars are a feature of the local streets and we have a solid following on social media. We sponsor local festivals, and have undertaken a number of charitable schemes pro-bono.
Our projects are mainly residential - both new-build and extensions, but we also have experience in leisure, office and retail schemes throughout the south east. We design each project to be as sustainable and energy-efficient as possible. We have successfully obtained planning approval for Listed Buildings, properties in the Metropolitan Green Belt, schools, HMOs and Change of Use applications.
We operate from rented premises, and offer an extensive range of architectural services including surveys (generally conducted by our in-house team), sketch designs, planning and building regulation applications, and contract administration. We explore Pre Application Advice where applicable, and have established good working relationships with specialist consultants, local planning/building regulation teams and local contractors tradespeople and suppliers.
Our annual turnover is circa £450,000 and annual profit (current adjusted EBITDA) is circa £105,000. These figures have been maintained throughout the interesting post-Brexit economic environment.
We typically attract 60-80 new clients per year, with about 50 projects active at any one time. A number of clients have returned to us after selling their original property and purchasing a new property which they plan to alter and extend.
After much soul-searching, the practice is for sale to facilitate retirement plans. Offers are invited and a handover period is proposed.
