Ancarraig Lodges is an outstanding example of a self-catering holiday lodge park in a tranquil and picturesque trading location. Purchased by the current owners in 2015, Ancarraig Lodges are set within 12 acres of secluded private woodland, directly on the Great Glen Way in a hillside position above and overlooking Loch Ness, yet only 3 miles from the popular village of Drumnadrochit and only 17 miles from Inverness.

The iconic Urquhart Castle and world-famous Loch Ness are also within close distance, meaning the business is ideally located in a true tourist honeypot location.

The business comprises 12 well-appointed Scandinavian-style lodges, each of which sleeps four guests comfortably with one double bedroom and one twin. The lodges are of timber construction with pitched sheet metal profile roofing. All lodges have open-plan living areas with a well-equipped kitchen with a conventional cooker and microwave, a fridge with a freezer compartment, a cosy log-burning stove, and dining tables, plus bathrooms with over-bath showers and W.Cs.

Each lodge is decorated and furnished to a high standard, with a full suite of fixtures and fittings, furniture, and appliances. Each lodge also benefits from a private outside veranda with further dining facilities. All lodges are pet-friendly, something that proves very popular for guests with four-legged friends. The site is set in an elevated position, spread across wooded countryside, meaning each lodge feels secluded and private, with good separation between units.

There is ample on-site parking and several walking paths to enjoy the beautiful Scottish countryside and to see the abundance of wildlife in the area.

The site is well laid out with lodges spread over an upper and lower area, further enhancing privacy and again adding to the spacious feel of the park. Each lodge sleeps four guests but there are several different types of lodges in Ancarraig. The Thistle is the standard lodge, all of which have been redecorated and upgraded since 2015 and are subject to a constant schedule of works and improvements. The Rosemoore: there are four of this style on site, each have been fully refurbished in early 2016 and include USB charger sockets, large flat-screen TVs, double glazing as well as upgraded appliances, furniture, kitchen and bathroom suites. The Wood Hatch: This Lodge is individually decorated, bursting with character, and named in homage to its creator, The Bearded Woodworker. The Wood Hatch is both cosy and stylish and hugely popular with visitors.  Each Lodge has parking for onetwo vehicles and generous amenity ground plus a veranda which is ideal for enjoying the views. The Lodges are all maintained to a high standard and presented in excellent condition. It is clear that the current owners are constantly investing back into the facilities and the site infrastructure. A reception building and staff office is situated at the entrance of the park which also doubles up as a small gift shop selling a range of snacks, drinks and crafts, catering to the hundreds of passing walkers each year. , Tto the rear of the reception is a laundry store, and there is also an on-site playpark for children.  Check-in is keyless as guests are provided with a code prior to arrival and keys made available in a key-safe lock box. Much of the ground is left to grow naturally to encourage rewilding, natural wildflowers and wildlife. There is currently no private accommodation on site however one of the lodges could be used as live-in managers’ accommodation and there has been previous planning permission granted for the erection of a manager’s house. .
