Since 2018, I have worked tirelessly to build what is now an exceptional business. The initial proposition has been honed over time to now be considered one of the world leaders in sensor technology.

What do we do?
In an ever-connected world; buildings, cities, and infrastructure are left in the dark ages.

Getting straight into it, METL was started in 2018 as SPS - Smart Plant Systems - to monitor plant rooms and commercial infrastructure to optimise them and make them safer, more efficient, and more reliable.

We developed the technology with Ford and Bosch in line with a security initiative and initially took it to a small market, still with a focus on plant rooms and infrastructure.

SPS quickly got into some of the most iconic buildings in London - the SEGA Building, The Ritz Hotel, and many more.

Given the success of our initial PoCs, we took wireless infrastructure from our security systems and incorporated it into our sensor solution.

That in itself was a game-changer.

Now, in 2024, SPS has rebranded to METL - and it’s a super exciting time for us and our business!

It's also a great opportunity for me to realise some of my investment through the sale of shares, which is the reason for this listing.

So what does METL do?

In short, we sense environmental parameters such as temperature, humidity, CO/CO2, air quality and much more. We use the data we capture to make recommendations and trigger positive change across a range of environments within buildings - schools, hospitals, offices, and many more.

How do we do it?

METL installs a single CnC module, which requires nothing more than a single power connection. No internet access, no access to your network or infrastructure - just power. METL does the rest.

This central box communicates with our long-range, encrypted, wireless sensors, which allow communication over distances from 600M - 18KM! Yes - our battery-powered sensors are the size of your finger and would communicate with our CnC module from one side of London to the other - with no cables or power connections!

Our wireless sensors are entirely battery-powered, stand alone and incorporate bank grade security.

Each sensor ranges in size - from the size of an AA battery to the size of a pack of cards. All have an expected battery life of 5+ years and are maintenance-free.

Even our main CnC module has a UPS backup - so if the power goes, METL doesn’t! METL installs in less than an hour and gets to work straight away.

How reliable and secure is METL?

METL was developed in 2018 and, since then, has not missed a single sensor message!

METL is over a billion data points strong and counting, and we’re (very proudly) the only wireless solution who met the security requirements and is currently deployed at Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Station.

We use AI to enhance the power of that data.

When METL captures data… What do we do with it?

METL is a world leader in data acquisition, data contextualization, and utilisation of captured data for positive change.

We display data to you in a number of ways:

1. Core Dashboard

We provide you with access to a state-of-the-art, proprietary dashboard that displays all your data in one place. This is the perfect dashboard for Facilities Managers, Maintenance Engineers, Stakeholders, Boards and anyone “on-site”.

2. Reception Dashboard

When our clients improve air quality, provide optimal working environments or make major improvements, they like to shout about it! Our reception dashboard allows you to display real-time data on Air Quality, Temperature, Humidity, CO2 etc.

3. Reports

In my opinion, this is where METL really earns its keep. Depending on the setup you have, you can pull daily, weekly, monthly or periodic reports.

These reports provide key data and easy-to-use feedback on how buildings can make real, positive changes. Our RoI is very fast - which not only provides a huge amount of data but also provides some clear, concise, and easy-to-understand / implement recommendations at the end.

The full capabilities of METL go way beyond this listing. But another huge positive is METL’s ability to grow over time. Want an extra sensor for a new space? Not a problem - we send you the sensor, turn it on and it’ll automatically appear in your dashboard.

Workforce optimisation is just one quick example. If you have a list of tasks - let’s say cleaning - we can auto assign that to cleaners. Have a day where a cleaner doesn’t turn up? Not a problem - METL automatically re-routes cleaning staff to critical areas before re-distributing tasks in order of priority.
