One of the biggest names in breakfast TV joins one of the biggest names in travel franchising, championing the value of booking through a personal travel consultant
TV broadcaster Eamonn Holmes OBE will be representing The Travel Franchise, one of the UK’s fastest growing companies with a stellar reputation for training and supporting anyone who wants to launch their own home-based travel business.
The announcement that one of the biggest names in breakfast TV is joining one of the biggest names in travel franchising promises an unparalleled collaboration for the company and its Not Just Travel customer-facing brand.
As one of Britain’s most beloved TV personalities, Eamonn is renowned for his captivating charisma and brings an infectious enthusiasm to the partnership, while Not Just Travel offers unique expertise in crafting unforgettable travel experiences via its group of homeworking travel agents.
Co-founder of The Travel Franchise and Not Just Travel Paul Harrison said: “Having Eamonn join us is a real coup as he has a wealth of experience in the travel sector hosting travel programmes such as BBC1’s Holidayprogramme.
“Eamonn will help us in many areas of our business using his presenting skills to engage and inspire our network of travel consultants and help them with their social media reach. He will also attend conferences and our international retreats as a key motivational speaker.”
Widely regarded as the world’s longest-serving breakfast television anchor, having amassed over 26 years with GMTV and Sky News, Eamonn has been an outspoken supporter of travel agents, particularly during the pandemic.
Commenting on the announcement, Eamonn Holmes said: “I’m excited to start spreading the word about the value and service of personal travel agents and about the amazing holidays Not Just Travel provides.”
“Working in news means that I often see or report on how the travel industry is disrupted. During the pandemic it was clear that people who had booked through travel agents had support, advice and expertise when they needed it most. I would never think of booking my holiday independently myself. I pick up a phone and talk to a travel consultant who I know and trust and can add value and security.
He added: “If I want something done I get someone with expertise in that field to do it and travel is no different.”
Eamonn was particularly impressed by the fact that The Travel Franchise trains and supports people new to travel enabling hundreds of people to earn money doing something they love.
“I think it's fascinating that the majority of consultants have worked in other jobs and yet they've chosen to retrain and do something completely different; to start a new adventure in travel. I can’t wait to meet some of the franchisees.”
He added: “I always say that if you do something you love, you will never work a day in your life. And there certainly seems to be great enthusiasm amongst the company’s consultants. Many people are obviously searching for their ideal profession, their ideal job and clearly many franchisees have found it. Travel is a magical thing.”
Consultant Ami Wood, who was new to travel when she joined The Travel Franchise two years ago yet sold over £270,000 worth of holidays in April (2024), said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Eamonn on board, he’s such a great addition and will be recognised by so many. Having such an association with someone so famous will really help us push our sales to the next level and his backing will help give our customers the reassurance that booking with a travel consultant really adds value and peace of mind.”
