New Franchise Development Manager joins The TaxAssist Group

Highly experienced in franchising and business, David Spurrier will provide field support to TaxAssist Accountants in England and Wales.

David Spurrier joined TaxAssist Accountants in December 2023 as a full-time Franchise Development Manager supporting franchisees out in the field across England and Wales.

He has a strong background, initially working for the police force before moving to a new career in business and subsequently franchising. His experience includes running and selling two highly successful businesses, one with a 1 million+ turnover which he built up from scratch before being asked to return as a consultant. He has also received extensive training in the US on successful business development techniques from the Dwyer Group, a leading master franchisor.

Samantha Skyring, Head of Group Learning and Development, said: “I am delighted to welcome David to TaxAssist. He comes with an excellent background in business and franchise development and is a strong addition to the support team.

“David is responsible for supporting franchisees to ensure they are following the franchise system and planning ahead for success.”

David said: “I’m very excited to be joining one of the leading franchises in the UK. When I met Group Director Sarah Robertson and Samantha, their professionalism and attention to detail was off the chart and I knew this role was for me.

“I have already attended a Discovery Day and met many of the staff at the Norwich Support Centre, and what stands out for me is the time people have for one another. The culture and values is outstanding, with franchisees at the core of absolutely everything.

“As I undertake my training, I am genuinely excited to start my franchisee visits.”

David joins a team of Franchise Development Managers. These include Terry Peachman, a former franchisee with 20 years’ experience, who built up and sold a highly successful multi-office practice in Lincoln. He works alongside one of TaxAssist’s longest serving staff members, Steve Mack, who provides virtual consultations offering the benefits of the expertise he has built up in a 20-year career travelling around the UK visiting franchisees face-to-face.
