TaxAssist Shrewsbury welcomes new owners

Nigel Lomax has sold his franchise to neighbouring franchisees Gary and Cheryll Jacks.

After exactly 20 years as a TaxAssist Accountant, Nigel Lomax has retired after selling his successful practice looking after 550 clients to the experienced husband and wife team Gary and Cheryll Jacks.

Reflecting on two decades of business success with TaxAssist, Nigel said: “I feel like a number of ‘thank yous’ are in order.

“Firstly, I’d like to thank my loyal and dedicated staff for helping me to build the business to where it is today, you really are a great team.

“Secondly, the TaxAssist Support Centre in Norwich, for delivering on what they promised all those years ago! If I’m honest, I think the business I’ve built up exceeded all my initial expectations and I wouldn’t have been able to achieve all I have without the guidance and support provided.

“Finally, I’d like to thank my clients. The small business community has been through some tough times, but it’s great to see how they rally round and support one another. It really is a fantastic community to be a part of and I’d like to thank them for word-of-mouth recommendations which helped us grow year-on-year. I’m really pleased that I’ve been able to hand over the reins to Gary and Cheryll and I wish them all the best for the continued success of the practice.”

Gary and Cheryll are no strangers to investing in neighbouring areas, having purchased two other TaxAssist practices over the last few years. Nigel’s shop in Shrewsbury and office in Newport, will operate in conjunction with existing shops in Chester, Queensferry and Ellesmere Port, which Gary and Cheryll run with the assistance of their large and experienced team. They will now service over 1,000 clients across their territory in the North West.

Gary said: “Since joining the TaxAssist network in 2006, Cheryll and I have enjoyed huge success in establishing and scaling our practice. We’re extremely proud of our team, the high level of service which we provide and the good reputation we’ve built up.

“I’d like to thank Nigel for handing on such a well-run practice, and we look forward to meeting existing and new clients and building on his legacy.
