Harrogate-franchisee celebrates 20 years with TaxAssist Accountants

Dave Underwood has recently celebrated 20 years of success in Harrogate with leading accountancy network.

Dave Underwood’s introduction to franchising was as a family venture, joining TaxAssist Accountants alongside his sister Val and brother-in-law John Robinson. After successfully growing the practice together, which fully supported two families, Dave became the sole franchisee after Val and John retired in 2016.

He now runs his busy shop at 6 Mount Street in Harrogate looking after the accounting needs of more than 1,000 clients annually, with the assistance of his seven members of staff.

Reflecting on his years with franchise, Dave said: “20 years seems to have gone in the blink of an eye and it feels like only last week when we were down in Norwich on the initial training course. We have been through some different times together over the past two decades, from the banking crisis to Covid-19, but I know we have always had the full back-up of the team at the TaxAssist Support Centre and have nothing but praise for the help and advice I have received since 2001.

“Without them, I would not be where I am today, and I have enjoyed being part of the franchise and working with the franchise team and look forward to more years working together.”
