RECORD numbers of franchisees are renewing their franchise agreements with Dream Doors this year.

Ten showrooms throughout the country have signed on for another five years with the UK’s #1 kitchen makeover company in 2019.

Showroom owners say their profits are increasing every year and many of them are building towards early retirements that include plenty of travel.

Mark Holmes, who began running Dream Doors Chesterfield in 2014 with his wife Rachael, said it would be ‘crazy’ to quit now.

The former recruiter for the Royal Mail said: “I’m 53 now and if Rachael and I keep going until I’m 58 we should be able to retire a bit earlier and move to the coast.

“I quite fancy moving to Devon or Cornwall. I’m drawn to the sea and I feel like having a dog and walking on the beach every day would feel like being on holiday all the time.”

Mark added: “We’ve built up momentum in our business and we’re fully expecting to make more in our second five-year term than in the first five years.

“Our sales figures are up 30 per cent on what they were this time last year – it would be crazy to stop now.”

Elaine Hurley, who runs Dream Doors Oxford with her husband Mike, said they are also looking forward to bringing their retirement date forward.

Elaine said: “I think anybody with any common sense, from an early stage in business, should be considering when they will want to leave it.

“We’re in our early 60s, so the time is right for us to start looking ahead at that.

“I’m sure golf will take over our lives – I think there are over 35,000 golf courses around the world – and we have a motor home, so it would be great to travel to a few of them.”
