Andrew Morton celebrates 15 years as a TaxAssist Accountant

In his time with TaxAssist Accountants, Andrew Morton has passed a milestone birthday (or two), had two children and built up a sizeable practice of over 500 clients, which he runs from four offices across his territory in Shropshire

CIMA qualified Andrew Morton joined TaxAssist Accountants in October 2002 after a career as a Management Accountant, Financial Controller and Finance Director in the TV industry.

“I had over 10 years working in a variety of roles at Channel 4, Pearson and GMTV but I knew that I wanted to run my own practice. When I came across an advert for the TaxAssist franchise I knew this was the opportunity I was looking for and six months later I had moved to Ludlow and signed up,” explained Andrew.

In his time with TaxAssist Accountants, Andrew has seen steady and consistent growth and now operates from one office and three shops in Ludlow, Leominster, Craven Arms and Bridgnorth to cover his territory as effectively as possible. “Shropshire is a relatively rural area, and I know that people will only travel so far to see their accountant. I now have a team of eight staff and I split my time between the offices as required.

“The TaxAssist Accountants model is to concentrate your time on working on your business not in it, and I’m pleased to say I am now at a point where I am able to delegate to my team, safe in the knowledge that they are well supported by me and the TaxAssist Support Centre, who are on hand to offer advice and training.

“It’s been a really enjoyable journey over the last 15 years and I now have a business I am truly proud of.

“The TaxAssist business model has proved to be a brilliant way of building a practice. There is an immense amount of security in operating with hundreds of small business clients and with the marketing and technical initiatives, training and support offered by the Support Centre, I have had a massive advantage over operating independently. I could not have done this without them.”
