Franchisees pack the venue for Caremark’s Mid-Year Meeting

Caremark hosted another successful Mid-Year Meeting earlier in the week, with franchisees travelling from many parts of the country to attend the event at the delightful Oxfordshire venue – Eynsham Hall.

The full head office team was there to welcome the network and host a day packed with presentations from senior management as well as guest speakers from different organisations.

Dr Karan Jutlla (pictured), former senior lecturer at Worcester University in dementia studies and now an independent specialist consultant in the study of Alzheimer’s disease gave a moving address to a packed auditorium, highlighting the importance of providers having a clear understanding of what dementia is and how it affects people differently.  Dr Jutlla stressed the importance of clear and relevant training for all care staff and how we need to see our dementia clients as people who are more than simply their illness.

Paul McMahon, senior executive with the Alzheimer’s Society also spoke about the valuable work the Society is doing in line with the increasing number of people who are living with dementia.  He also highlighted the need for ongoing resources to fund research and provide specialist care.  It is anticipated that in the next 10-20 years there will be significant numbers of older people living with Alzheimer’s or some dementia related condition.

Franchisees enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the historic surroundings and had time to network, share ideas and discuss best practice.

Commenting on the day, Caremark’s Managing Director, Anne O’Rourke said:  “It was an excellent day and I have had lots of really positive comments from our franchisees who really gleaned valuable material from our speakers.  It was also good to see so many people from across our network as well.  We’ve thoroughly enjoyed hosting the day and all thanks go to my team for working so hard to deliver a really good event.”
