Driver Hire enjoys a summer of success

While most of the UK were on the beach this summer, Driver Hire’s franchise sales team has been busy, sealing resale deals on two of its well-established franchises.

The most recent was Driver Hire Birmingham which has been purchased by Lisa Hughes from long-standing franchisee, Jim Richards. Jim has decided to realise his investment and retire after 14 highly successful years in the business.

“I’ve always wanted to work for myself,” says Lisa. “However, I don’t know whether I would ever have been brave enough to do it totally on my own. Franchising provides support and a proven business model. This gave me the confidence to go for it. Driver Hire is a great brand and has many very successful offices. I was encouraged to talk to individual franchisees and they all seemed really happy, which speaks volumes.”

Earlier in the summer Bobby Mann purchased the Reading & Basingstoke postcode areas. “I researched a number of franchises – and Driver Hire was the one that really attracted me,” says Bobby. “The more I looked into it, the more I could see that this was a well structured business. In addition, my past experience in customer service, sales and marketing fitted well with the skills required to run a successful recruitment operation.”

Established thirty years, Driver Hire provides temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to businesses and organisations across the UK. They help when customers need extra staff to deal with holidays, illness or business expansion. Driver Hire has just enjoyed two record business years and could be heading for another one this year.

Commenting on Driver Hire’s successful summer of franchise sales, Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s Chief Executive said: “Our franchisees continue to benefit from a flight to quality, as transport operators seek out a recruitment partner they know is fully compliant with industry legal requirements. In addition they benefit from using additional products and services which include Driver CPC training and ‘dh Licence Check’, our online licence checking service. As a result I’m delighted to report that we’ve maintained our strong trading performance in the current financial year, with high levels of demand for all our services.”
