Hampshire care provider embraces new Care Certificate

Introduced nationally at the beginning of April 2015, the new Care Certificate has been immediately embraced by Caremark, the national care provider.

This new legislation which came into force on 1 st  April 2015 is line with the expectation of the Care Quality Commission for social care providers and Skills for Care.

Caremark (Winchester & Eastleigh), together with the entire Caremark UK network set about implementing the new training strategy which has in effect replaced the Common Induction Standards.
Extensive work was done by Caremark to ensure all franchisees were appraised of this change and equipped and confident to use the Care Certificate by 1 st  April 2015.  Caremark’s National Training Manager’s use of the guidelines and subsequent production of a very straightforward and user-friendly training framework was welcomed by everyone.

The Care Certificate is an identified set of standards that health and social care workers adhere to in their daily working life.  Designed with the non-regulated workforce in mind, the Care Certificate gives everyone the confidence that workers have the same introductory skills, knowledge and behaviours to provide compassionate, safe and high quality care and support.

It is based on 15 standards, all of which need to be completed in full before individuals can be awarded their certificate.  Each standard is underpinned by full learning outcomes and assessment criteria.

The Hampshire care provider delivers bespoke care and support to a wide variety of individuals in the Winchester and Eastleigh areas.  Clients are supported to live safer and more independent lives at home, giving them greater choice and control over their daily living.  Support is also given to access local activities and maintain hobbies.
