The family-owned commercial cleaning and facilities management business is celebrating its place on this year’s shortlist and the people behind its growing franchise network.

Green Machine is proud to announce that it has been named a finalist for Large Business of the Year at the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards 2026, marking another milestone for the Somerset-rooted business and its franchise family.

Organised by Sedgemoor Chamber of Commerce, this year’s awards attracted more than 160 entries across all categories. Green Machine is one of four businesses shortlisted for Large Business of the Year, in a year the Chamber has described as its biggest yet.

Founded by Jerome and Michelle Rellis, Green Machine has grown from a home-based operation into an established commercial cleaning business with a developing national franchise network. Its services support organisations including offices, schools, healthcare settings and manufacturing businesses, with a focus on reliable service and environmentally responsible cleaning.

For Green Machine, the recognition is an opportunity to celebrate the people who have helped build the business. From cleaning operatives and managers to head office colleagues and franchise partners, each plays a part in maintaining standards, supporting clients and developing lasting relationships within their local communities.

That people-led approach also sits at the heart of the franchise model. Green Machine combines local business ownership with support from an experienced head office team, giving franchise partners access to training, operational guidance, sales and marketing support, and established systems for running their businesses.

Franchisees focus on building relationships with commercial customers, developing their contract base and recruiting and managing local cleaning teams. As their businesses develop, ongoing support helps them navigate the practical demands of service delivery, client management and day-to-day operations.

Earlier this year, Green Machine welcomed Fatima as its Oxford franchisee, extending the brand’s presence into another region. Her launch is one example of how the franchise network is developing, with local business owners bringing the company’s commercial cleaning services to customers in their own areas.

The winners will be announced at the Sedgemoor Business Excellence Awards ceremony on Friday 20 November 2026 at Batch Country House.
