Minuteman Press Franchise Owners Antonio & Yvette Duarte Celebrate Two Years in New Bedford, MA, Talk Business Growth & Top Appearance Award
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. – Antonio and Yvette Duarte are the owners of the Minuteman Press franchise in New Bedford, MA since April of 2024. As they approach their two-year celebration, Antonio and Yvette also won the Top Appearance Award for Minuteman Press in New Bedford and have grown their business. RVP Todd Golberg shares, “I was proud to present Yvette and Antonio with their Top Appearance Award for the New England Region. They have repainted and renovated their center in New Bedford both inside and out. When customers see the upgraded window graphics, they are impressed by the new look. I am also proud of their hard work and growth, which was helped by an acquisition as well as adding new equipment as they grow their wide format business.”
Antonio Duarte says, “Winning the Top Appearance Award means a lot to us. It’s a reflection of the pride we take in our business in our delivery and the brand. We believe the way a center looks sets the tone the moment someone walks through the door. A clean, professional, and welcoming lobby immediately builds trust and confidence—it tells customers they’re in the right place and that their project will be handled with care. That first impression often turns a walk-in or inquiry into a real conversation, and from there into a long-term customer relationship.”
On growing the business, Antonio adds, “Our sales growth comes from putting customers first, building strong relationships, and turning satisfied clients into referrals. We complement that with targeted marketing and a strong online presence, while reinvesting in the store with updated equipment and signage to create a professional, inviting space. It’s a mix of service, visibility, and smart investment that keeps momentum going.”
Journey to Minuteman Press
Prior to Minuteman Press, Antonio says, “Before Minuteman Press, we came from very different but complementary backgrounds. Yvette was a travel agent, so she spent years working directly with clients, managing details, and making sure people felt taken care of. I come from an accounting background that was focused on numbers, structure, and keeping things running smoothly. Together, it turned out to be a great mix for owning and running a business.”
Yvette adds, “Minuteman Press is very well known and has an excellent reputation, not just with customers but also among the local business community. The awards and recognition the brand has earned really stood out when we were looking at franchises, and it feels good to be part of something so respected. We also liked the business model because it’s built around delivering real value to customers. And lastly, the support and training made a huge difference in our decision. We didn’t feel like we’d be on our own.”
“New Bedford has a supportive business community. People want to see each other succeed. We stay involved by networking, supporting local businesses events charities people causes, and being present in the community. We see strong demand for commercial printing and marketing materials. A lot of our education happens naturally—through conversations. We listen first, then help clients understand what options will work best for them.” -Antonio & Yvette Duarte
Rewards & Advice for Others
Reflecting on two years in business, Antonio and Yvette offered the following statement: “Owning a business brings the freedom to chart your own path, make an impact, and see your hard work come to life. Professionally, it’s rewarding to build something meaningful, grow skills, and create opportunities for others.”
They also share the following advice for their fellow owners, saying, “Use the support that’s available—it’s one of the best parts of the brand. Stay consistent, focus on your customers, and don’t overlook the importance of presentation and relationships. Also, marketing is a 24-hour job and spend money wisely. We’re proud to be part of Minuteman Press, and we’re very proud of our support staff and our regional teams.”
