An introduction to Phil Harrison – NIC Local’s Head of Franchise Recruitment
We are excited to introduce Phil Harrison as the new Head of Franchise Recruitment at NIC Local.
With 20 years of experience in the franchise industry, Phil brings a wealth of expertise and a unique perspective to his role.
Phil’s career began as a Business Development Manager (BDM) for a greetings card distribution franchise, where his dedication and results led to a promotion to National Sales Manager.
This role sparked his passion for franchising, which was further nurtured during his time at the British Franchise Association (BFA). There, he gained a deep understanding of what makes franchising such a powerful business model.
From franchise support to franchisee – and back again!
Phil then moved on to another well-known franchise brand, where he served as Head of Domestic Sales and Franchise. In this role, he was responsible for recruiting, training, and supporting franchisees to help them succeed.
After an internal restructure, Phil took the bold step of becoming a franchisee himself, which was something he had always aspired to do. He acquired a greenfield territory and worked with the goal of building a business to sell within six years.
Thanks to his hard work and dedication, he successfully sold the business after just five-and-a-half years, gaining invaluable insight into the challenges and rewards of franchising from the franchisee’s perspective.
Following a brief return to franchise operations and network development, Phil was excited to take on the opportunity to become Head of Franchise Recruitment at NIC Local.
“We offer the highest level of personal support available”
Discussing what drew him to the NIC Local opportunity, Phil explains: “The NIC brand is well-established and respected within the franchise industry, and the level of support franchisees receive was a key factor.
“With our 1-8 BDM-to-franchisee ratio – which is far better than the industry average of 1-15 or more – we offer franchisees the highest level of personal support available.
“This support spans everything from comprehensive training before launch, to administrative services such as invoicing, credit control, and health and safety compliance. This empowers franchisees to really focus on growing their businesses.”
Phil’s broad experience in franchise operations, network development, and as a franchisee himself gives him a unique perspective on what makes a franchise opportunity truly successful.
Now he’s eager to help others take their own “leap of faith” and build a thriving business with NIC Local!
