Meet Philip Drazen, Business Partnership, Regional Partner for West Yorkshire

Philip Drazen has over 35 years’ experience in the legal/business world and has come to understand the importance of having good quality ‘business friends’.

2️3 years ago he founded the Entrepreneurs Club which brings together business owners and investors to share business ideas and is one of Yorkshire’s premier forums for entrepreneurs. 

Leeds-based Philip joined Business Partnership in July 2022 and brought his many years’ experience in advising companies on their route to exit with him to his new role.

He is assisted by his business partners Nigel and Tom Jones, who have worked in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry for over three decades and have considerable knowledge of owning, selling and buying businesses.

A former managing partner of a regional law firm, Philip is a well-known and respected figure in West Yorkshire and boasts a vast network of connections through his successful and continuing Business Exposure Groups and Entrepreneurs Club ventures.

Philip is an active and well-respected member of the Yorkshire business community and is surrounded by a pool of resource to call upon to make the deal complete with the minimum of disruption. He finds the Business Partnership database a valuable source of suitable buyers.

“I’ve sold businesses for the last 22 years but have never done it with the support, infrastructure and database that Business Partnership provide as one of the largest independent companies in the sector,” he said.

Philip uses his skills to focus on SME business to business sales, including traditional and tech companies, said that the pandemic has resulted in business owners falling into one of two camps.

“Many people have been re-energised as they have seen competitors disappear and are now planning to grow by acquiring businesses. However, there are a significant percentage who have re-evaluated their priorities and are now keen to sell. Both present myself and Business Partnership with lots of opportunities to guide them through a difficult and emotional process,” he added.

Philip is experienced in taking buyers, sellers and investors along the journey of a sale or acquisition, addressing the issues and maximising value.

“I work closely with my business partners to ensure that the deal that is struck is the deal that completes, by ironing out any areas of doubt expressed by the buyer. It’s all about managing expectations”
