The business was originally established in 1981 and has been operating from its current location for just over 15 years.
The team comprises 2 mechanics and 1 sales manager with the mechanics providing backup sales support where necessary. This is an incredibly lean team that keep the shop running all week with minimal owner day-to-day involvement.
Additional support is provided by a freelance VA and a bookkeeper who keep the admin under control and allow the staff to do what they're good at which is selling bikes, repairing bikes, and delighting our customers.
New owner involvement can be as small or as large as is desired. The current owner has chosen to keep some distance and therefore established processes, procedures and staff upskilling to enable the business to operate with minimal owner involvement. However, if a new owner wanted to be more hands-on (understandable, certainly in the short term whilst getting up to speed) then this would be entirely possible and welcomed.
The current owner has had a number of fantastic years at the helm and thoroughly enjoyed his time building a huge amount of experience that has helped in multiple areas of his life. However, he also runs another business (separate industry, non-competing) and is ready to leave this business to a new leader.
The current owner has built a strong connection with the staff who have been incredibly supportive and will therefore be keen to ensure that this business is left in a safe pair of hands. The current owner will be keen to ensure that any new business owner is capable and - if requested - will provide any post-sale support needed to ensure continuing success.
