Mobile Case Creators is a startup website which has been developed as part of a portfolio of e-commerce websites. With a huge potential market, we decided to specifically target those who seek to personalise the phone cases and are owners of iPhone and Samsung handsets. This was largely due to the supplier reliability following significant research. Its generated £200 in the test process we did on eBay to validate the products.
We have had a system built which is 100% automated with direct integrations built to send the designed product to our supplier. The customer can choose a number of designs we have had created or a completely blank design, and from there, upload, move and customise the case to fit the very specific requirements.
Products include Flex, Tough, Slim and Bio cases with a very strong range available for iPhone. Our designs are all customised specifically for us and we have a range of other designs the new owner can upload – this is very simple to do using an interface we have had put together. We have various themed cases and name (all personalised by the user) as well as simple, popular photo cases. The platform allows for complete text customisation so the user can make it for them which includes the font, colour and location.
The tool also allows for significant future development using templates and a 3 step process which we can provide training on - the product range can grow very quickly. Our key USPs are heavily upon the complete personalisation but also our free shipping (cost built into the price). It should also be noted the supplier ships globally from a location nearest to the client so there is potential for a global reach.
Our pricing allows us margins for 30-50% and we are competitive in the market so this could be increased a little. We have selected our supplier as they provide full end to end support so it was to allow is to concentrate solely on marketing, which is an area we are competent and skilled within.
We have a few brands set up and this one is being sold as we are seeking to concentrate on a specific niche with different products which we have more knowledge in. I am including our extensive marketing plan which was compiled to support us so it can provide a pathway to develop the business further
It has been tested selling a few on ebay to verify the supplier before we invested in the website, custom designs and the online personalisation so it is very much a blank canvas for the new owner. I wanted this to be 100% automated and allow the customer to take full control of the product which has been achieved. We have invested in a specialist developer to build this after providing them with our marketing plan, and we they criteria was fulfilled.
The business would suit someone who has the time to dedicate to social media ads and is happy to monitor a website rather than have a real hands on, product creation approach. We have used technology to utilise all of the design and this lends itself to a part time or full time business.
The cost of running the platform is very low at only £30 per month which includes the hosting, Design software and supplier integration. There is a 1% fee for all completed transactions payable to the supplier which covers the cost of the personalisation without any fixed commitment. Our designs are included and will be sent in formats to allow direct upload to the software creation tool (happy to provide some training).
