Hallbankgate is a quaint little village in the county of Cumbria 3 miles from Brampton, 12 miles from Carlisle . A former coal and lead mining village, limestone is quarried here and it once had a gasworks and a forge. The Belted Will is a 17th century pub named after Lord William Howard of Naworth castle. The pub was at one time a temperance hotel, and now serves real ales and provides accommodation.
