Other ferry service departs daily from Tarbert to Portavadie via CalMac. Having purchased the hotel in 2010 the property underwent a complete refurbishment with the business opening in April 2011.

Internal Details
Access to the hotel is given directly from Harbour Street, leading into a welcoming entrance foyer and reception desk straight ahead. The staircase to upper floors/ bedrooms is to the left-hand side and a corridor leading to the male/female toilets and function/dining room is to the rear. The bar and restaurant can also be accessed from the foyer, to the right-hand side.

Bar & Seabed Restaurant: Offered on a split-level basis with the bar area to the front commanding outstanding views of the harbour, both areas are presented to a very high standard. Renowned for its culinary delights the Anchor Hotel has previously been listed in the Michelin Guide and has built up an excellent name not just locally but in the surrounding areas. The restaurant and bar offer an outstanding dining experience with a pleasing home from home atmosphere within a very relaxed environment incorporating modern décor with wonderful displays of art on the walls. Offering an a la carte menu as well as seasonal and seafood menus and children’s menu, ensure that the Seabed restaurant has something to offer all taste buds.

Dining & Function Room: Located to the rear of the restaurant and fitted out to the same exacting standard, this room can be opened to incorporate the restaurant and bar area, which makes it ideal for larger functions/weddings, via folding walls.
Also set over a split level the room, which can take up to 90 comfortably, benefits from its own bar, has access directly to the kitchen making it perfect for meetings/ functions and can run independently from the other public areas. The corridor at the side gives private access for its guests. If not being used for functions it is used as an extension to the restaurant. Food can be served in all 3 areas.

Letting Accommodation
Located over the first, second and third floors, the hotel comprises of 12 en suite bedrooms, with the 8 rooms to the front commanding outstanding harbour and sea views. Each room is presented to a high standard contemporary design with a Scottish twist and include flat screen TV, hospitality rays, ironing station, hairdryer, telephone and luxury toiletries.

The Barge
Moored directly in front of the hotel, The Barge, without doubt offers the most unique sleeping experience and letting rooms in the area as a result it has near 90% occupancy all year round. Purchased and refurbished completely c. 2014/2015 the barge was converted into 4 luxury bedrooms, each with en suite facilities, commanding views of the harbour that are level with the water line.
