We would prefer to sell outright, but realise that £925,000 is a big ask for many. Even after 33 years of success, the banks are cautious in what they will lend to a unique business in the Hebrides. Expansion Potential:

Turnover in 2016 was up over 30%. Road Equivalent Tariff cut ferry fares by nearly 60%. Ferries now run every hour, not every two. Turnover to 09 August 2017 shows further growth of 14% over 2016, in line with our forecasts in CashNotes02Feb17 and CashProjection02Feb17. We forecast further increases in profit in 2017 and 2018.

The planners have approved a pre-application for replacement of Shielings with lodges with an 11 month season. We would not wish to replace Shielings ourselves. But buyers wishing to realise capital might sell lodges, say, on a 30 year lease.

Shielings evoke the summer cottages of Highland shepherds by mountain and shore. Glamping combines the comfort of a cottage with the back to nature of camping.
