Time management, systemization, and team building enabled the opening of a second location

COMPANY PROFILE
A dog training company in Florida

CHALLENGES
The owners wanted to expand their business to another location but didn't know where to start.

SOLUTIONS
Firstly, we had to clarify where they are today and determine gaps in their current location before they could grow and expand into another one. Most don't realize that if you have issues within your own four walls, adding another location quadruples the troubles. The owners realized they were not in a position to expand as they didn't have the right people to lead the team. As with most business owners, they did it all themselves. This was not a sustainable situation to open another location.

RESULTS
There was a ton of self-reflection, self-analysis, and changing responsibilities and accountabilities to others within the organization. This was not easy and required a lot of trust and repetitive action to demonstrate that the change was here to stay. Previously, the owners would throw stuff at the wall to see what stuck and then change it up the very next day. We identified how to restructure the existing team, hire strong leaders, and let go of some weak players. It took over a year, but now, the team is knocking it out of the ballpark, customers are thrilled with the team, and the owners have a better work-life balance. Add to that, they just successfully opened their second location.
