My Business Makes £75k A Year And I Get To See My Family When I Want

In 2015 Stuart Janes joined Fizz Pop Science operating in the Croydon area. Since then Stuart has been building a flexible and successful business and has recently expanded, taking on an additional franchise area.

Following university and after taking some time out to go traveling, Stuart ended up working as an entertainment manager on a cruise ship. After meeting his future wife, Hazel, and 3 years at sea, Stuart was ready for life on land.

He knew he wanted to run his own business but didn’t know in what. After carrying out research into various opportunities, Stuart attended the Franchise Exhibition where he was to meet Fizz Pop for the first time.

Stuart explains, “I was immediately drawn to the passion of the Fizz Pop team. I felt it was an exciting opportunity. I really liked David and his honesty. He was clearly devoted to science and children. I could tell he actually cared for the franchisees too and not just in it for the money.

I had looked at other businesses but none had really inspired me. When I found Fizz Pop it ticked so many of my boxes.

After a couple of meetings and watching a show, I joined Fizz Pop taking on the Croydon territory. David was very supportive and is always there for advice when needed. I got help with recruiting my first schools and David even covered some of my clubs in the early days for me. All the franchisees are supportive of each other too, the whole network are extremely helpful.

Operating a Fizz Pop franchise gives me the flexibility to choose my working days and hours, so I get to choose when I see my family. I have 2 young boys, if they have something on at school or activities, I can control my diary to make sure I’m there for them.

The admin side of the business is very easy to operate; I can manage a lot of things while out and about so I am not tied to a desk.

I love the fact every day is different, there are no 2 children or schools the same. The variety is great.

Last year I generated around 75k, with my business growing I hope to increase this next year. I now have 10 staff and have recently taken on the SE postcode area. I’m excited for the future with Fizz Pop and my plans are to increase the amount of clubs we do in each half term.”
