Leading Sustainable Resin Driveway Company, Oltco, Celebrates A Successful June

04 July 2019

Sustainable resin driveway company, Oltco, is celebrating an incredible June with the opening of three new franchises in Bath, Lancaster and Ipswich. The successful month continued with Oltco’s Recycle Bound product winning ‘Product of the Year’ at the Cornwall Business Awards and being named runners up in the National Recycling Awards, for the innovative world-first product.

At the start of 2019 Oltco Directors Johnny Pearce and Tom Stringer set a target of launching between one to five new franchises throughout the year. Thanks to the company’s dedication and passion for providing premium products, quality installation and outstanding customer service, Oltco has signed three new franchises and expanded into three new territories within the month.

Working for Oltco and running a franchise has a whole host of opportunities and benefits. Each franchise owner undertakes an in-depth training course at Oltco’s head office in Newquay, Cornwall, prior to opening the franchise - providing them with the skills needed to deliver Oltco’s outstanding services and products. The company focuses on staff wellbeing, career development and a positive ethos while providing professional support every step of the way. Oltco’s support can be in education, by offering employees sale courses, or support on the installation process. Oltco’s unique position within the market place makes the company the perfect place to start a career and build your own business.

For those who match Oltco’s vision and ethos, the average investment is £15,000+VAT plus a £5,000+VAT marketing launch campaign per franchise. Oltco also expects a working capital of £25,000 to be considered for additional funds for vans, initial products, wages and additional marketing. This can be funded through savings, credit, or a bank loan. Oltco can offer support with this due to its partnership with NatWest who is supporting the business model and is keen to work with future franchisees.

The Bath franchise is owned and run by James Gardener, a local businessman who has a background in sales. Roger Hardaker, a business man who has 25 years of experience running his own IFA business, runs the Lancaster Oltco franchise. The Ipswich franchise is run by Mark Betts who has 35 years’ of experience within the construction industry, and works alongside his talented team of experts to deliver Oltco products.

Each franchise delivers Oltco’s professional solutions and its industry leading product, Recycle Bound, the world’s first recycled driveway solution to help combat the global issue of plastic waste. Made from waste plastic (straws, plastic drink bottles and plastic food packaging) from a plastic recycling point, each square metre of Recycle Bound consists of the equivalent of 3,000 plastic straws. Therefore if Recycle Bound was laid on a standard 50 square metre drive, the equivalent of 150,000 plastic straws would be recycled in the process.

Oltco’s first franchise, Oltco Blackpool, started in 2018 and has been in operation for two years. Within this time period the franchise has grown, allowing the owners Jonathan Stringer and Alex Hoskissin to create their own work schedules and be their own bosses. By having the privilege of being their own bosses, it allows the pair to achieve a lifestyle with an enticing work-life balance.

Johnny Pearce, Co-Director at Oltco comments: “James, Roger and Mark have been welcomed in to the Oltco family and we can’t wait to watch the business grow across the three areas. We offer fantastic career opportunities to all our franchisees that embody our values and share our passion for Oltco’s industry leading products as well as our commitment to looking after the world around us. Our franchises create the perfect opportunity for those who share our ethos of feeling good about the work we do and the decisions we make and who want to become a part of an award-winning business. We are excited about harnessing our success and sharing it with these three like-minded individuals and watching Oltco grow across the UK.”

Tom Stringer, Co-Director at Oltco adds: “Our initial aim at the start of the year was to open one to five franchises across the year. As it’s July and we have already launched three new franchises, this unprecedented growth has been a fantastic benchmark for Oltco.”
