SureCare (Warwickshire) raising awareness of local services

11 September 2012

SureCare (Warwickshire) held their first Community Care Awareness Day at the Benn Partnership Centre in Rugby on Wednesday 9 May 2012.  The day was aimed at older and disabled people to inform them about the services available locally to support them to live at home independently. Among the exhibitors were the County meals delivery service, the mobile library, dog walking and gardening services as well as displays of aids and equipment for the home.

The Mayor of Rugby, Cllr Gwen Hotten, opened the event, while the Benn Centre’s resident group - the Chapatti Club - provided a good chicken curry lunch for visitors.

Desiree Lambert, Director of SureCare (Warwickshire) said, "We are very pleased that so many people came to the Community Care Awareness Event and learned about what is available to support them. Many visitors said that there was a very real need for this sort of event and we will certainly run it again in the future."
