Could you run this Gweek pub?
Now is an excellent time to take over and run the Black Swan, as we have over £100k of investment work planned to revamp this community hub. We have exciting plans to refresh the internal spaces, including the bar and dining areas as well as the toilets. There are also plans to revamp the external areas with new paintwork and planters.
Pub and location
The Black Swan is a traditional country pub and restaurant in the picturesque village of Gweek near Helston, offering four double ensuite bedrooms.
Guests love it for its rich heritage with exposed beams, exposed stone walls and antiqued finds. Furnished with ample tables and seating for groups of all sizes, the pub offers tucked-away romantic tables for two, informal bar seating with a log burner and a flexible layout so that big parties can eat together.
Outside, to the front, there are picnic tables with a garden area to the rear, which leads to a large car park.
You can enter the pub from the main roadside or the car park. Both entrances lead you to the traditional, main L-shaped bar area, with a darts/pool area to the right-hand side. To the left is a seated area for drinkers and diners in front of the wood burner. You’ll discover a restaurant area with a traditional high-beamed ceiling to the rear.
The ideal publican will be adept at marketing the business to attract visitors to the area. You’ll discover a seal sanctuary a short walk away, renowned for its care and rehabilitation of marine mammals (it also features penguins and otters and has some splendid underwater viewing enclosures).
Helston, the Royal Naval Air Station at Culdrose, Falmouth and Penzance are also within easy reach by car.
