About The business:
The concept was to set The business apart from being just a soft play centre. Children are all different and usually enjoy multiple activities during their two hour play session. That’s why we offer a book corner, toy box and dressing up plus occasional arts and crafts. - thus making a *** of activity!

The facility caters for children and their families from birth to 12 years old. There is an upmarket café area providing high quality food and non-alcoholic beverages.
We have a membership scheme, where customers supply us with their contact details and the birthdays of their children. This allows us to email them with updates of events, activities and birthday party options and entitles them to free play sessions after a number of visits. We have many loyal customers who have become regulars. Our friendly and personal approach we believe sets us apart from some of the larger soft plays.

As an indoor facility in Scotland we do not have the same seasonality issues as perhaps some other businesses do. Our busiest period is late Autumn to Spring. We provide a number of group packages for local groups looking for end of term activities and venues. We have hosted several school nurseries, private nurseries, playgroup and toddler group visits accommodating their needs including 2 groups with additional learning needs. This is an area to build upon providing an attractive package for groups.

Parties!
We offer birthday party options for all ages. We have installed fantastic disco lighting and a sound system that enables us to provide quality parties. Our parties have been very successful, in particular our exclusive use parties. We continue to develop our party offering, with recent additions including: Magic Parties, Superhero Parties and Fairy Parties. We have also invested in Nerf blasters and accessories for our new Combat Attack Party. We intend to continue to monitor what is popular with our customer group and we can adapt our party themes accordingly.

Alongside our parties we have also hosted our own Halloween Party, Christmas Party and a Back to School Party. These have been popular and again this is an area to be developed.

Staffing
A large proportion of the core staff have been at The business from when we opened. From the outset we were committed to offering our employees the opportunity for training and development. In 2013 twelve of our team were first aid trained and then a further ten staff were first aid trained in 2014. In November 2017 11 employees attended refresher training in First Aid. Nine staff have attained their food hygiene certificate and a further three attained SVQ level 2 in Hospitality. In 2016 three staff members attended the World Host training which provided comprehensive skills on customer service. This learning was shared with the rest of the team. 4 staff members have been on a barista course, as we understand that the expectations of our customers continues to increase in relation to products such as coffee. This shows our commitment to offering our visitors a quality experience served by knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Awards
We have actively participated in a number of networking events hosted by Visit West Lothian in 2016, which have given us an opportunity to meet with other businesses in West Lothian. The business is a paid member of Visit West Lothian which ensures that we are kept up to date with the latest happenings in the local industry and we therefore benefit from the promotional opportunities that the company offers such as featuring in their leaflet racks located across the south of the county. VisitScotland awarded The business a 4 star excellent rating in their Quality Assurance Grading and we have managed to maintain this quality rating. In 2016 we were awarded Highly Commended for Best Tourism Business in West Lothian by the Chamber of Commerce.

Social Media and the Web
We are constantly looking to develop our business and have put in place a variety of customer feedback mechanisms such as feedback forms after each party, periodical feedback on specific areas such as menu and activities . We have upgraded the website. We have an active facebook page which currently has 3,274 likes and our posts regularly reach over 2,000 people. Our Facebook review rating averages at 4.3 out of 5. We use facebook to update customers of offers and events. We always ensure that we respond to enquiries and questions promptly. We also score well on TripAdvisor with many positive reviews. Future development area is the possibility of creating an outdoor space to attract more visitors when the sun shines!
We want to remain fresh and exciting providing the best facility we can for the local and wider community.

Facts and Figures
In our first year we had 18,216 families to play at The business, making us one of the top five most popular paid attractions in West Lothian. This equates to over 50,000 visitors. The furthest visitors have been from Canada – meeting up with family from across Scotland!
