Which pizza franchise?

Can anyone tell me why a Papa John store would be better than Dominoes?

I've narrowed it down to the 2 above, with Dominoes already having 500+ stores in the uk and Papa John making its way up the ladder with approx. 100 stores. Dominoes have a new store available in a near approx. 15-20 min drive (a very successful store already operating around the corner from me). Papa Johns is looking to open a store within my immediate. Both stores have approx. same investment of approx. £200-240k.

If you had a choice of buying a pizza from Papa John's, Domino's or Perdips Pizza who would you choose?

But the fact is that with a franchise a lot more people have to answer the first two as they will expect their share regardless of how well you are doing.

You have £250,000 can you set up a Pizza Shop for that?

Domino's are seeing an uplift in business at the moment as people trade down. The stats suggest that folk are eating out less and opting for a takeaway/delivery. It's only a personal view but Domino's seem to have the market sorted when it comes to marketing. You need to assess the benefits of going it alone and retaining more of the profit against the benefits of a national brand. Either way there are pros and cons.

if it comes to buying the pizza store Dominos is the best selection vs Papa Johns, why is that answer to that is very simple.the owner of the \papa \johns was the employee of the \Dominos pizza distribution center in Ann Arbor, Michigin head office. He resigned and started his own brand which is known as Papa Johns.but no doubt now-a-days Papa Johns is giving trouble and stealing the market share from Dominos and improving the food quality.i used to work for Dominos in USA in corporate level and i know inside out of Dominos.Go for the real brand but you have to pay royalty fee and tech support and software and all other things.but in private pizza place you are really free of all the worries of unannounced inspections from Dominos and be on your tip toe till you close the business for the day.Good luck with the venture,

Ask 10 friends to order pizza.

Figure out who they call.

To me Pizzhut and Dominos have the stronger brand and in most cases people stick the brand they know / can remember. I've never heard of Pappa Johns in the UK (SW London), so you'd have to spend time explaining to the potential buyer who/what/where your product is..

Don't Dream It. Do It.
