Mynd House an Award Winning Guest House lies at the foot of the Long Mynd in Little Stretton near Church Stretton Shropshire.
Built in 1902, with later extensions, it offers well proportioned and extensive accommodation arranged over three floors and has operated as a hotel or guest house since 1948 with guests drawn to the glorious Shropshire Hills in an Area of Outstanding Beauty-a perfect base to explore the many attractions Shropshire has to offer. The stylish and beautifully presented guest accommodation consists of a comfortable and characterful sitting room with a wood burning stove, an atmospheric bar and airy dining room. There are 8 delightful and spacious en-suite bedrooms ,one on the ground floor with easy access from the car park, some with separate sitting areas and all enjoying views of the garden and surrounding countryside.
The private/owner,s accommodation consists of an office, an open plan sitting/dining room with access to a private garden, two bedrooms and a bathroom. At the centre of the house is a well equipped commercial kitchen with adjacent laundry/utility room. There is scope for further accommodation on the ground floor.
Mynd House is approached up a private driveway and sits in an elevated position enjoying fabulous countryside views from the mature landscaped gardens. There is plenty of guest parking.
Two bedroomed with bathroom with walk-in shower and lounge/dining room
In an area of outstanding beauty popular with tourists especially walkers.
Within easy walking distance of two excellent pubs.
We have in our five year period done a lot to the fabric of the building. This information can be given at a later date but suffice to say it has helped move the grading to 5 Star. It also means that maintenance over the next few years will be minimal.
The sales when we took over were well in excess of the VAT limit but we preferred to drop the sales below the limit and hence the quoted figure of £80,000. We wanted a change in lifestyle and the extra money was not of great concern.
The business has in the distant past operated as a small hotel with a bar and restaurant and the facilities to do this remain.
There is a family suite which we operate only as a double with the second bedroom used for storage so this could revert to its former use.
We operate the business for 10 months of the year preferring to take our long holidays overseas in the winter escaping some of the cold weather.
There are two extra rooms on the ground floor which could also be used for further accommodation.
Being so conveniently situated in this area of outstanding beauty with easy access to the Shropshire hills attracts walkers and cyclists.
Owner 70 years old this year and planning to retire.
