The guest house is set in one of the most lucrative positions in Caernarfon within the walls of the castle, where there is three other 4 star guesthouses, a 5 star guesthouse and 1 three star bed and breakfast. Also in the town there are 2 budget hotels, a three star hotel, a back packer hostel and the three star Black Boy Inn, the oldest Inn in the area. The relations between the local guesthouses/hotels are excellent and much mutual recommendation and referral happens. There are a number of other guesthouses of varying star rating in and just outside Caernarfon but they do not enjoy the lucrative location of Cartref, which position attracts a lot of passing trade in and out of season. Cartref also has potential to offer evening meals by request and would be one of only a very limited number of guesthouses doing so in the area. (It has an excellent reputation for the quality of its food and the owners would be very willing to assist any potential buyer with its menus and recipes.)
