Kathryn on her innovative business idea...
"The idea grew out of my own desire to find some answers. I took a sabbatical from my full-time job because of my health problems. I felt I was unable to make decisions.
"As a result of that I started to do some online research and I attended medical conferences on the menopause. I soon realised there were about 11 million other women going through the same feelings.
"I knew the best way to distribute information was online."
On 'joining up the dots'...
"When I was looking at medical websites I found they weren’t joining up the dots. So many women are slipping under the net because they have a variety of different symptoms that don’t have a particular diagnosis.

"In most cases doctors won’t do anything, but there is something that can be done and my aim is to help women understand this."
On establishing herself in the healthcare sector...
"It’s taken four years for the business to really take off. It’s been very difficult to get into the healthcare sector because I’m not medically qualified.
"However, nurses recommend me to their patients, perhaps because they think outside the box.
"I offer peer-to-peer support, I don’t claim to be a doctor; all I’m doing is helping people understand their symptoms and offer advice on how they can become healthy again."
