Opportunity
The British Blinds®
opportunity is a ‘hands-on’ franchise. Each of our
franchisees is mobile and, ideally, operates their business from
home using a fully liveried van. This helps to establish a strong
presence and build awareness of the brand in their own exclusive
territory.
How the Business Works
Customer enquiries that are received
through our national Freephone 0800 number are handled by our
central call centre, and details are obtained as to the type of
product required. This information is passed onto the franchisee in
the
customer’s area, who then contacts the customer and arranges
a mutually convenient appointment.
Having already been notified of the type
of product required, the franchisee will be aware of the customers
needs, and able
to advise and quote accordingly. A 50% deposit is taken, with the
balance payable on completion. The franchisee is responsible for
negotiating the price, but a typical gross profit margin of 42.5%
is expected.
Having established the customer’s
requirements and had the quote accepted, the order is subsequently
placed with the factory, and processed. The completed product is
then sent out to the franchisee who makes a further appointment for
installation, and collects the remaining balance.
This allows for a positive cash flow
through the business and minimises possible customer debt. We then
invoice the franchisee on a strict weekly basis.

Dedicated magazines and home make-over
shows on television have increased consumer awareness of interior
design. Buoyant consumer spending combined with the desire for
contemporary design and innovative products has translated into
solid profitability.

market alone is estimated to be worth around £480 million and
is expected to maintain a future growth of between 10 -13%*. With
