This is a successful Thames Valley based web development business with over 50 customers on recurring billing. It has been run as a part of a larger web software (CMS) company to cater specifically for SMEs. The parent now wants to focus purely on the software system and reseller based sales model.

It is proposed that the brand for the SME web development business is sold, and becomes an independent reseller of the software to service the existing customers and continue the rapid growth. This will reduce or eliminate any customer loss and provide support and continuity for the new owners. However, there will be no contractual requirement to remain a reseller if the new owners do not wish to.

The business is just 2 years old. The current turnover and profit figures have been achieved with one sales person/principal working 1-1.5 days per week. All other costs for delivering the service have been deducted to reach the net profit figure.

The turnover figure above is shown after payments to the current parent company for software use and hosting etc. The cashflow/profit figure is based upon our current costs for outsourcing the site design and build part of the service. If a buyer has these skills in house, then they could potentially add 19,800 to the cashflow figure, giving a personal income of 33,300.

Other resellers have also used the advanced capabilities of the software and hosting system to build higher value websites for larger customers. The core software system is currently hosting and managing a number of household name sites as well as SME sites.

Support & training:

All of the current customer web sites, and hopefully new customers too, are hosted in the sellers software system. The seller has a network of some 20 resellers and is focussed on continuous business support for these resellers. We envisage, therefore, a continuing business relationship with the buyer, and will work to make this a success as we do with all of our resellers.
