Business description

We are seeking to attract a buyer for our London-based web development / hosting agency. Our ideal buyer will be an existing web development company that either uses outsourcing already, or has spare capacity to take on the work from our existing clients and new leads.

We've been established for 15 years, and provide custom-written web development (usually on Microsoft technologies), Windows web hosting, logo design, seearch engine optimisation, pay-per-click services and some online data backup. We have exceptionally strong ranking across the search engines, and have a varied and regular client base ranging from one-man companies, to larger turnover organisations and NGO's and do not rely on any single client for financial stability.

We are also an ISO 9001 registered company, which allows us to tender for Government, large organisation and EU contracts, and also ensures we have best practice processes and procedures in place. We are a UK-registered limited company.

STAFF

We have a small client liaison presence in London, with all back-end project management and development operations being provided by suppliers in Eastern Europe and on occasion further afield. These can be easily switched to your own internal team or alternative outsource partners if desired. Our leased Windows servers all reside in the UK, and again hosting can be migrated to your own servers.

LEADS AND THE ORDER BOOK

We received a significant proportion of new work as repeat business from existing clients. We also receive new leads from potential clients that have seen web sites we've built, and directly from the search engines and other sites where we have listed the company.

We don't actively market the business, cold-call or push sales, which means that if you already have an active sales team then there is a significant opportunity to use the reputation of our company and build a solid marketing campaign to increase sales considerably.

In the last financial year we had over £3million in new sales leads (these are documented) of which £270k converted to new sales. We generally receive 10+ new leads a week from new potential clients. One reason we know for the non-conversion is our complete reliance on overseas capacity, and not having a strong UK prescence as some potential clients have felt it too risky. So if you have more than a couple of staff in the UK there will likely be a significant jump in conversion rates.

In the current financial year (Apr-Aug 2009) we have already secured over £200k of new business and currently have a work-in-progress (not yet invoiced) order book in excess of £130k of which most has yet to be passed to our outsource partners. If you were to move swiftly, you would be able to take over complete control of most of the order book to see the projects through to completion with your own team.

Support & training:

The seller has indicated that they would be willing to undertake a salaried position for up to a year to ensure a smooth transition to the new buyer and to encourage existing clients to fully utilise the services of the buyer. As a minimum, the seller will provide a one-month handover included in the sale price.
