This area of the business is growing every year. The other niche market which sets this business apart is attracting fellow classic Car owners. Other information
- Expansion potential:
- There is potential for increasing the gite rental business offering long term and winter lets.
The business could be easily expanded by creating more B&B letting rooms( the farmhouse is currently used mainly as a family home), and by offering evening meals, for which there is a regular demand.
Some years ago the business was run as a restaurant, being in an ideal location, so the potential is there to recreate this business.
- Competition / Market:
- The fact that there are several other gite business in the area reflects the popularity of the Dordogne. However, none of them offer cycling holidays or classic cars, and they do not have the same flexibility of accommodation to offer. There are no other businesses nearby who offer B&B. Even in 2009 when many other gîte businesses were suffering from the economic gloom, we achieved our 2nd best ever year and our bookings for 2010 are ahead of previous years.
- Support & training:
- Marketing Package, Swimming Pool Maintenance
- Reasons for selling:
- Semi Retirement and to allow the owners to concentrate on their other business interests, which are also growing. i.e. Gordon Barnes - Chartered Surveyor. Jane Barnes - Language Teacher. English Studio in France.
